Record-breaking firefighters' fountain celebrated 100 years of Czech statehood

The 100 years of Czech statehood, which we are celebrating this year, is an extraordinary occasion, and firefighters from across the Czech Republic celebrated it in extraordinary fashion.
More than 1,000 volunteer and professional firefighters gathered on Saturday on Prague's riverside on Rašínovo and Hořejší embankments, to create — to the sound of the symphonic poem Vltava from the cycle Má vlast — a truly magnificent spectacle.
With the help of fire hoses, the water of the Vltava rose and combined with music and coloured lights into a captivating show, which the audience watched from the surrounding riverside, bridges and islands.
You can watch the firefighters' fountain in our video.
