Christening of a new postage stamp featuring the steamboat František Josef I.

Today we had the honour of hosting an extraordinary event aboard the historic steamboat Vyšehrad — the christening of a new Czech Post stamp featuring the steamboat František Josef I.

The ceremonial event took place at the historic moorings on Rašínovo nábřeží in the presence of Mayor Oldřich Lomecký, who became the godfather of the new stamp; the Director of the Stamp Production Department Břetislav Janík; and the designer, the academic painter Pavel Sivko. The stamp was ceremonially christened.

On this occasion, we also presented and christened Miroslav Hubert's new book "The History of the Founding of Prague Passenger Steam Navigation in 1865". The event was also graced by the presence of Mrs Věra Čáslavská.
