Memorial Service for the Drowned

On Sunday 2 November, the traditional Memorial Service for the Drowned took place. This commemorative event, which pays tribute to those who have drowned in Czech rivers, is held every year by the Vltavan association together with PPS.

This year, the funereally decorated steamboat Vltava set sail on the memorial cruise — from Rašínovo nábřeží, past Vyšehrad, through the Smíchov lock and into the city centre. The ceremony culminated in the laying of funeral wreaths at the statue of the Vltava.
