Ceremonial placing of the historic steamboats under heritage protection

Today at high noon, a ceremonial gathering took place at the eco-friendly moorings on Kampa aboard the steamboat Vltava. During this ceremony, the Minister of Culture Jiří Balvín handed over a commemorative document to the management of the Pražská paroplavební společnost, by which the historic steamboats Vltava and Vyšehrad become a cultural monument.
The declaration of the steamboats as a cultural monument is not only a tribute to and recognition of the care taken with them, but also a major commitment by which the management of PPS has voluntarily taken on the burden of complying with the demanding conditions of heritage protection.
Many more successful cruises and good condition were also wished to both steamboats by the Mayor of the Prague 1 Municipal District Oldřich Lomecký, the Director of the Heritage Care Department of Prague City Hall Jiří Skalický, the Director General of the National Technical Museum Karel Ksandr and the Director of the Prague office of the National Heritage Institute Ondřej Šefců.
