Together with our sister company Prague Boats, on Thursday 7 June we celebrated two extraordinary events — 80 years of the steamboat Vyšehrad and the christening of the brand-new boat Grand Bohemia.

It has already been an incredible 80 years since the steamboat Vyšehrad first cut through the waters of our rivers. She was launched in 1938 and today, together with the steamboat Vltava, is one of the last two historic paddle steamboats on the Vltava. On the initiative of PPS, in 2013 she was, together with the steamboat Vltava, added to the list of protected historical monuments of the Czech Republic.

This brings further obligations in caring for the steamboats, and that is why this year the steamboat underwent the first phase of a new renovation. This will help preserve both her functionality and her historic appearance.

At the same time, we are delighted that the fleet is not just about historic vessels but is also being modernised and complemented by beautiful new boats. The successful series of boats Agnes de Bohemia and Bohemia Rhapsody has gained a larger successor — the boat Grand Bohemia. Through her ceremonial christening she was officially put into service on regular sightseeing and especially restaurant cruises. She is also available for hire.

You can find all the details about her on the dedicated page for the boat Grand Bohemia.

Thank you to everyone who celebrated these great events with us, and we look forward to many more cruises together aboard our boats.
