The 150th anniversary celebrations of PPS are approaching

This year is a significant anniversary for the Pražská paroplavební společnost — it is celebrating 150 years since its founding by Mayor František Dittrich. The celebrations, which run throughout the entire season, will culminate on Saturday 22 August with a rich programme.

"From a pond down a stream to the river, by river to the sea, then up to the clouds and back to the pond. A journey for seven of the water nymph's tears shows what the water cycle in nature looks like."

The magical Grandma Vítěnka Klimtová, accompanied by an accordionist, paints fairy tales for the youngest.

DJ MACKIE MESSER (Electro Swing River) feat. EL CHECO & CORZAK

The stars of the charming electro-swing dance hall from the New Stage of the National Theatre are perfectly at home on Prague's riverside in summer. To celebrate 150 years of the Prague Steamboat Company, they have brought along the pioneer of Czech electro-swing DJ Mackie Messer with the support of the excellent music duo El Checo & Corzak. Not a single foot will stay still.

SYNCHRONISED SWIMMERS ON THE VLTAVA — exhibition performance by the 1st Club of Czech Synchronised Swimmers

A tribute to the beautiful steamboats. The 1st Club of Czech Synchronised Swimmers — a unique men's synchronised swimming team — will give an exhibition performance in the calm waters around the Prague steamboats.

TiNG — concert

An eight-member international band combining reggae, ska, dancehall, drum 'n bass, swing, rock and hip-hop. By mixing all of these together, the band has created its own style, which they themselves call "Praggamuffin". The band's frontman is the singer and multi-instrumentalist MC Turner /USA/, who, after several years travelling the world (Jamaica, Iceland, France), settled in the Czech Republic. The rest of the band, alongside his brother Miller /USA/ and drummer Omar /MEX/, is made up of Czech musicians.
